Rosetta Stone Wins Best Educational App Award

Newly Launched Language-Learning Program Also Nominated for International Webby Award

/EIN News/ — Arlington, VA, April 17, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Rosetta Stone Inc. (NYSE: RST) today announced that its flagship mobile app—Learn Languages with Rosetta Stone—has been recognized with two national accolades for its newly launched language-learning program. The first is a Platinum Award for “Best Educational App” by the Best Mobile App Awards, which focus on recognizing the top mobile apps available on the market, across all platforms. A committee of judges comprised of expert designers, developers, and publishers evaluated entries and selected Rosetta Stone as the winner, noting on its website: “The convenient mobile app is packed with powerful and useful tools such as Rosetta Stone’s revolutionary TruAccent speech recognition technology.”

Rosetta Stone has also garnered a prestigious Webby Award nomination for “Best Mobile Site & App” in the Education & Reference category. Deemed by many as the Internet’s highest honor, this international award received a record-setting 13,000 entries from all 50 states and 70 countries worldwide, and fewer than 9% were selected as Nominees. Rosetta Stone, along with its app development agency Five, is eligible to win both the The Webby Award, as selected by the members of the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS), and The Webby People’s Voice Award, voted on by the online public. Voting for the Webby People’s Voice Awards is open until Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 11:59 PM (PT) at the following link: https://vote.webbyawards.com/PublicVoting#/2017/mobile-sites-apps/general-sites-apps/education-reference.

“It’s an honor to have our new mobile app recognized by the innovative teams at both of these prestigious award organizations,” said John Hass, Chief Executive Officer at Rosetta Stone. “I’m thrilled to have our flagship mobile app highlighted for the significant improvements we made to ensure our customers continue to learn new languages in the most efficient and effective manner possible.”

Celebrating 25 years of continued innovation in the education technology sector, Rosetta Stone unveiled significant updates to its Learn Languages with Rosetta Stone program earlier this year. Various subscription offerings and standout new features — Phrasebook, Stories, and Audio Companion — provide learners with an updated user experience that will get them talking in their new language right from the first lesson.
